FirstOntario supports the places we call home through volunteerism. We’re proud of the efforts our dedicated Blue Wave employees contribute to building and sustaining our thriving communities.
Our employees spend their own time enhancing the lives of others in the communities in which they live and work. They devote their personal time to worthwhile programs and events which are important to them individually, to FirstOntario and to the communities they serve.
Where you put your money does matter. And to us, nothing matters more than the well-being of our communities and giving back to the communities in which we live and work. Blue Wave accepts volunteer requests from local communities year round. Applications are evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Events fall within our geographical footprint;
- Aligns with FirstOntario Vision, Mission, Values and Philosophy;
- Aligns with FirstOntario’s cooperative principles.
All requests for Volunteers must be submitted a minimum of 30 days prior to the request date.
Should Blue Wave support your event through Blue Wave Volunteers, the undersigned consents to the use, without additional compensation, of photographs, likenesses and voices, in connection with any promotion or publicity and/or general news, entertainment and information purposes by FirstOntario Credit Union.
Due to the potential for a conflict of interest, Blue Wave will not approve requests which pertain to religious or political activities, private schools, individual pursuits, or any events taking place outside the communities where we do business.

STATEMENT OF AUTHORIZATION AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The undersigned hereby releases and forever discharges FirstOntario Credit Union (and in turn Blue Wave and Blue Wave Volunteers), including their respective subsidiaries, sponsors, advertising and promotional agencies, from and against any and all manner of action, causes of action, suits, debts, covenants, contracts, claims and demands, including legal fees and expenses, whatsoever including but not limited to claims based on negligence, breach of contract and fundamental breach and liability for physical injury, death, or property damage which the undersigned, his/her administrators, heirs, successors or assigns might have or could have, by reason of or arising out of the undersigned’s participation.
In order to recognize Blue Wave and its Volunteers for their kind support of this event Blue Wave Volunteers will wear Blue Wave branded clothing (shirt and/or jacket) and a Blue Wave lanyard/name tag. This allows Blue Wave Volunteers to be easily recognizable to both event hosts and event patrons.
